Modern Dental Technology for Fast and Comfortable Care

At Ferrari & Aldieri Dental Associates in Farmingdale, NY, we proudly use state-of-the-art dental technology to perform the most efficient treatments possible. For example, we use digital x-rays for sharper images and laser cavity detection for improved accuracy. Often, these advanced tools enable your dentist to diagnose decay or other oral health issues as early as possible, improving your prognosis. Furthermore, our innovative technology yields personalized and highly realistic results. We are particularly proud of our CEREC® system, which allows us to create same-day restorations. with which we can often create same-day restorations. Additionally, Drs. Donald Kahn, Angela Ferrari, and Daniel Aldieri are committed to continuing education; as a result of this training, they understand the most effective ways to utilize these tools and to improve your care.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a standard part of preventive dentistry. They can reveal cavities and small cracks in individual teeth. Extraoral x-rays can also help your dentist to diagnose widespread misalignment, impacted teeth, and similar concerns. Our digital system is far more accurate than traditional x-rays. The images are much sharper, and digital radiography involves no exposure to harmful radiation. An additional benefit of digital x-rays is that it allows your dentist to quickly compare the images to previous ones, making it easier to note the progression of any potential issues and identify problems before you experience pronounced discomfort or require extensive care.

Laser Cavity Detection with DIAGNOdentâ„¢

DIAGNOdent can often assist your dentist in uncovering cavities when they are still small and treatable with conservative fillings, rather than large crowns. Early detection can also prevent infection and the need for extraction. Your dentist will shine a laser on a healthy tooth to obtain a base reading of fluorescence. Then he or she will use the tool to measure fluorescence in your other teeth. An elevated fluorescence reading is typically indicative of a cavity.

CERECMillingMachine

A CEREC milling machine allows us to create same-day restorations, streamlining your treatment.

Single Visit Dentistry with CEREC

Thanks to CEREC, we can often provide dental crowns as well as inlays and onlays in a single appointment. This revolutionary system consists of a digital scanner and a milling machine. First, a member of our team will take virtual impressions of your teeth. Displayed on a computer screen, these models will be much more accurate than a standard handmade mold. Then the dentist will adjust the images, designing your custom restoration. The milling machine will use these blueprints to carve out your prosthetic in a matter of minutes. As an added benefit, the CEREC system uses ultramodern materials such as ceramic and zirconia, both of which yield a natural sparkle and color.

Soft Tissue Lasers

Our soft tissue lasers allow us to perform gum contouring with virtually no discomfort. The energy from the laser quickly eradicates unwanted tissue while simultaneously sealing your blood vessels. Thus, you will experience almost no bleeding and negligible swelling. The use of lasers means that your treatments are very precise and allow your dentist to remove tiny amounts of tissue. With this technology, he or she can provide customized results that can enhance the specific dimensions of your smile.
