What is Invisalign?
Straight teeth are attractive teeth. But more than that, they are healthier and more comfortable. Crooked teeth and an improper bite can lead to future dental problems and pain. Ferrari & Aldieri Dental Associates is pleased to offer Invisalign — clear, removable aligners for our patients in Farmingdale, NY. Custom made for your teeth and your unique goals, Invisalign is a more comfortable and attractive way to align teeth compared to traditional metal braces. Since they can be removed, it makes cleaning your teeth and eating much easier. If you are interested in getting straighter teeth with Invisalign technology, make an appointment today.

Can I Get Invisalign?
There could be several reasons your teeth are misaligned: genetics, thumb-sucking as a child, missing a tooth or teeth, and/or trauma to your face. Misaligned teeth could lead to more oral health problems, including a bad bite (dental malocclusion), uneven enamel wear, difficulty speaking and chewing, and pain in your teeth and jaw. The Invisalign system is ideal for both teens and adults who want straighter teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of braces. Much more discreet than traditional braces that poke and cut your cheeks, most people won't even realize that you're wearing your Invisalign aligners.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Your first Invisalign trays will be created with impressions at Ferrari & Aldieri Dental Associates. Once your Invisalign aligners are ready, we will have you come back in and we'll make sure everything fits correctly and get you on your way to a straighter and healthier mouth. It's important to keep your aligners in at least 20 – 22 hours each day in order for your treatment to work. Ideally, you should only be taking them out only for cleaning and eating. In time, you'll move to the next set of aligners as they carefully move your teeth into proper alignment. Follow-up appointments about every 4 – 6 weeks at Ferrari & Aldieri Dental Associates is important so we can evaluate your aligning trays and create new impressions so new sets of trays can be made. The length of time that you use Invisalign trays will vary, depending on your needs and goals.
What is the Follow-Up for Invisalign?
After we've worked to align your bite, it's important that you keep your teeth from moving back to their original position. Once you no longer need Invisalign, we will fit you for retainers to keep your teeth in their new position. Each retainer is custom made based on digital impressions taken after your Invisalign treatment is complete. We will discuss with you when to wear your retainers, how to clean them, and other important information. We will continue to watch the alignment of your teeth and bite at your annual exams and biannual cleanings to ensure your teeth remain in place.
