What is Invisalign?
Straight teeth are attractive teeth. But more than that, they are healthier and more comfortable. Crooked teeth and an improper bite can lead to future dental problems and pain. KFA Dental Excellence is pleased to offer Invisalign — clear, removable aligners for our patients in Farmingdale, NY. Custom made for your teeth and your unique goals, Invisalign is a more comfortable and attractive way to align teeth compared to traditional metal braces. Since they can be removed, it makes cleaning your teeth and eating much easier. If you are interested in getting straighter teeth with Invisalign technology, make an appointment today.
"Dr. Alderi is an amazing dentist. I was blown away by how well my teeth turned out after Invisalign and some basic cosmetic work that he did afterwards. He and his staff are super friendly and always make you feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend them!"- J.S. / Yelp / Sep 02, 2017
"KFA is hands down the best dentist around. I was set up with Dr. Ferrari for my first visit (due to my request of having a great cosmetic dentist) and I can truly say my teeth have never been healthier or better looking. All the procedures I have needed were thoroughly explained, I never wait for my appointment, I feel so welcome, and the atmosphere is like a spa (so beautiful). I am almost done with my Invisalign now, which Dr. Ferrari was amazing at setting up for my teeth to look exactly how I want them to, and I am already beyond happy with the results already. Can’t wait for the end results! If you need a new dentist, this is the place! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!"- C.G. / Google / Jan 07, 2020
"Scared of the dentist? Me too. Or at least I was, before I came to Dr. Ferrari 2 years ago. I haven’t had a good dental experience since my pediatric dentist kicked me out of his small chair at 18yrs old. It just so happened my reluctance to leave his care was warranted. Fast forward 15 years and I finally found another dentist I could trust. I came in to Dr. Ferrari’s office based off of the recommendation of my in-laws, and it was love at first check-up! She is kind, gentle, knowledgeable, and more technologically advanced than any dental office you would find frequented by celebrities on Park Ave in Manhattan. Dr. Ferrari has provided services for me to include a crown replacement, a night guard for grinding, cosmetic cavity filling replacements, and in preparation for my wedding in June 2016- Invisalign and Zoom whitening. Which by the way- excuse my lack of modesty here- came out AMAZING!I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Ferrari personally or professionally. She is a diamond in a world of rhinestones. Her office provides world class service which is a representation of her 5-star standards. Did I mention I drive one and a half hours (on a good day) to see her? I live in NJ.Make an appointment today, I promise you won’t regret it, and you’ll never have to search for another dentist again - which in itself qualifies as a life achievement."- J.J. / Yelp / Apr 10, 2017
"Dr. Ferrari is the BEST dentist! This has been the best dental experience. I just completed Invisalign and I could not be happier! Dr. Ferrari and her staff listen to all the concerns I had, they are always happy to see you and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable during your entire treatment! I use to hate going to the dentist but KFA has changed all of that for me! Looking forward to a bright, smiling future ahead with KFA dental!!!!"- J.S. / Google / May 04, 2021
"You are treated like gold through every single step of working with KFA Dental. From your first visit you are treated with such kindness and professionalism …. Every person in the office in wonderful. I’ve seen each of the dentists in the practice - each of them great. Highly recommend for everything from cleanings to Invisalign!!!!"- L.H. / Google / Apr 08, 2022
Can I Get Invisalign?
There could be several reasons your teeth are misaligned: genetics, thumb-sucking as a child, missing a tooth or teeth, and/or trauma to your face. Misaligned teeth could lead to more oral health problems, including a bad bite (dental malocclusion), uneven enamel wear, difficulty speaking and chewing, and pain in your teeth and jaw. The Invisalign system is ideal for both teens and adults who want straighter teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of braces. Much more discreet than traditional braces that poke and cut your cheeks, most people won't even realize that you're wearing your Invisalign aligners.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Your first Invisalign trays will be created with impressions at KFA Dental Excellence. Once your Invisalign aligners are ready, we will have you come back in and we'll make sure everything fits correctly and get you on your way to a straighter and healthier mouth. It's important to keep your aligners in at least 20 – 22 hours each day in order for your treatment to work. Ideally, you should only be taking them out only for cleaning and eating. In time, you'll move to the next set of aligners as they carefully move your teeth into proper alignment. Follow-up appointments about every 4 – 6 weeks at KFA Dental Excellence is important so we can evaluate your aligning trays and create new impressions so new sets of trays can be made. The length of time that you use Invisalign trays will vary, depending on your needs and goals.
What is the Follow-Up for Invisalign?
After we've worked to align your bite, it's important that you keep your teeth from moving back to their original position. Once you no longer need Invisalign, we will fit you for retainers to keep your teeth in their new position. Each retainer is custom made based on digital impressions taken after your Invisalign treatment is complete. We will discuss with you when to wear your retainers, how to clean them, and other important information. We will continue to watch the alignment of your teeth and bite at your annual exams and biannual cleanings to ensure your teeth remain in place.
Is wearing Invisalign painful?
No, wearing Invisalign trays doesn't hurt. Some people can experience tooth soreness as their teeth adjust to a new tray, but this typically goes away as the teeth get used to it. Over-the-counter pain relievers can easily manage any possible soreness, but you should always consult your doctor before taking any medications.
How long does Invisalign take to straighten your teeth?
For most patients, an Invisalign treatment program will last about 12 – 18 months.
How long do you have to wear the Invisalign trays every day?
For best results, Invisalign trays should be worn at least 20 – 22 hours each day, only taking them off to eat or to clean the trays and brush your teeth.
How often do you change out Invisalign trays?
Most patients will change their trays every two weeks. We will schedule you an appointment at KFA Dental Excellence every 4 – 6 weeks to check your progress.
